Surface pattern designer, illustrator and creative head of moDeern Design Studio. Together with my little family I live and work in Hamburg, Germany.
As a true Nordic Deern (Deern = North German word for woman/girl) I love minimalistic Scandinavian designs. But at the same time also floral, playful and folkloric elements from all over the world.
My creative career started already in 2002 with my education as a designer. After graduation I started working as a freelance designer – one of my first jobs was to create stand-alone prints for a fashion label.
In 2005, I also decided to study business in addition to my work as a designer. After my studies I continued to work as a freelance designer and as a marketing employee for big companies.
Ten years later I discovered Surface Pattern Design for myself. In 2016 I finally founded moDeern Design Studio – first as a part-time business alongside my job in marketing. Since 2020 I am now working full time as a designer and living my dream of a creative business.
